It’s good to talk!
At this time of the year, damp, cold days can make people feel depressed and sad.But if you think your depression may be more than “winter blues”, then a long-established Chichester-based charity can help. Chichester Counselling Services (CCS) offers affordable help to everyone over 18.
Although as a charity they ask clients to contribute towards their costs, they never turn anyone away for financial reasons. This enables clients from a full range of financial backgrounds to receive counselling, including those who are on low incomes and benefits.
All the counsellors at CCS are either fully qualified, or working towards qualification, and they are affiliated as a training service to the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
The service is completely confidential and sessions are weekly, with appointments available in the daytime or evening.
A representative from the charity, said: “Taking time to talk to a counsellor can help you express your feelings to someone who is really listening. Then we can help you make your own positive changes to your life.”
Counselling can help in many different life situations including:
. Bereavement
. Divorce and relationship breakdown
. Job loss
. Lack of confidence
. Anxiety issues
Clients have said: “It has helped me to be more self-aware.” “It was a great opportunity for me to talk and work through a set of deep-rooted issues affecting me and my relationship with others” and “Counselling has helped me so much. I am completely off anti-depressants and coping well”.
