Chichester Harbour was designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in 1964 & is a site of Special Scientific Interest. The towns & villages around Chichester Harbour are well worth a visit and provide some wonderful places to stay & there is a wide choice of cozy waterside pubs & restaurants. The shoreline & surrounding countryside offer great walking & a small ferry takes walkers & cyclists from Itchenor to Bosham Hoe to continue their adventures. Two Chichester Harbour tour boats also operate from Itchenor. The harbour is managed by Chichester Harbour Conservancy who are based in Itchenor & supported by the Friends of Chichester Harbour.
